The standard arrangement is that a site describes a service in general terms and puts the specifics behind a conversation. The logic is that a conversation converts better than a page. It does, for the people who agree to have one.

What the arrangement costs is invisible: the buyers who wanted to know what something involves, could not find out, and left. They do not appear in a funnel report, because they never entered the funnel.

What to publish instead

What each engagement covers and excludes. How pricing is arrived at, even when the number cannot be published. What happens after an enquiry is sent, and how fast. Whether the work is right for the reader, including the cases where it is not.

None of this is a substitute for a conversation. It changes who asks for one, which is the point.

The test

A buyer should be able to reach a defensible view about whether to contact you without contacting you. A site that cannot survive that is relying on the form to do work the writing should have done.
